1. Introduction
We don’t have any ‘hidden’ or unusual clauses in our terms and conditions that are any different, to what you would expect to see, with other companies. We want you to shop with us in confidence and if you have any queries or concerns please e-mail us.
By clicking the 'Accept' button you agree to our terms and conditions. By completing and submitting the electronic order form (checkout stage) you are making an offer to purchase goods which, if accepted by us, will result in a contract of sale. Please contact us via e-mail immediately if for any reason you believe a mistake has been made. All our cartoons are sent to you electronically with the watermark removed.
Cartoons are usually purchased direct through our web site which has a ‘shopping cart’ facility. Other ways to purchase our cartoons include e-mailing us the cartoon product code or cartoon caption. Telephone orders can also be placed using the product code or cartoon caption.
2. Company Information
www.businesscartoonshop.com (herein called ‘Business cartoons’) is owned by Visual Humour. The company was established in 1983 and since then has been supplying the UK press and countries abroad with its cartoon production.
3. Accessibility
Our aim is for ‘Business cartoons’ to be fully accessible to customers with disabilities, providing all our customers the ability to navigate the website easily. We are working towards a high level of accessibility defined by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) as AA compliance.
4. Privacy

A short summary from this page - We do not sell, rent or give any identifiable personal information regarding any of our clients/customers to any third party mailing lists. Any information that you give to us is held with the utmost care and security. When you place an order with us we only collect appropriate and necessary data so we can process your order effectively
5. Copyright
Web cartoons may be funny, but copyright law is serious business. Unauthorized use of copyrighted material is prohibited and illegal. All our cartoons are subject to copyright and therefore the cartoon(s) purchased on the web site must only be used for the ‘license’ they were intended. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, download, post, broadcast, transmit, print or any other use not mentioned any of the cartoon images on our website without prior permission from ourselves. You also agree not to adapt or alter any of our cartoon images without prior permission from ourselves. Permission is normally sought through our cartoon order enquiry form or e-mailing us. 6. Copyright control measures
We are aware of the potential to ‘copy and paste’ our cartoon(s) and additionally the use of editing software. Our site has included further measures to prevent the possibility of this occurring. We also randomly check on the use of our cartoons, particularly on Internet sites, including blogs. We use enhanced monitoring software to assist, and also to check if the cartoon has been purchased accordingly. We reserve the right to charge the full license type and administration costs, if our cartoon(s) are to be found in breach of the license, or have been illegally obtained.
7. How do you receive your cartoon? - Payment & Delivery
Payment may be made by any single one of the methods indicated on our website (Credit/Debit card, Bank transfer or Cheque) Any discount or promotional code may be used in the appropriate place during the ‘checkout’ process. You will be charged the current price for buying goods from our website at the date you place your order. All prices displayed are exlcusive of VAT. During the ‘checkout’ process VAT (currently 20% in UK) will be added if applicable to your own country, for example USA incurs no additional VAT charge. All cartoon(s) are sent to you electronically in the size & format listed on the cartoon page. For detailed information please review the ‘Ordering & Payment’ section, this is available on the ‘menu bar’ on each page of our web site.
If you make your payment during the checkout process, i.e. via Credit/Debit card, you will receive an e-mail, typically within minutes of your order, with instructions how to download your cartoon(s).
If you opt to pay by Cheque or Bank transfer and once payment has been made the cartoon will be sent to you. The cartoon(s) will be sent as an attachment via e-mail.
If you make your order via telephone and pay by Credit/Debit card then the cartoon will be sent as an attachment via e-mail. If you choose to pay by Cheque or Bank transfer the cartoon(s) will be e-mailed after payment has been received.
8. Refunds and Cancelling an Order
We hope you will be happy with your cartoon(s), if you have placed the order in error contact us as soon as possible to let us know. If you made payment via Credit/Debit card during the checkout process you will have received an e-mail with instructions how to download your cartoon(s) Our system administration site informs us if the cartoon(s) have been downloaded using the specific link you are given. If you have not downloaded the cartoon (once this is done you can then save to your computer) we will make a full refund.
If you have selected the option to pay by cheque or bank transfer you won’t receive the cartoon(s) until payment has been made. Therefore be certain you want the cartoon before paying for it as it will be sent as an attachment via an e-mail. We will be not be able to offer a refund you once the cartoon has been sent.
Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000: The Distance Selling Regulations deem cartoon(s) offered and digitally delivered by ‘Business cartoons’ to be services (Services). Our delivery of this service commences when the download has been commenced, or the cartoon has been sent as an attachment via e-mail. As such you agree not to exercise any right of return or cancellation, as you would with physical goods. 9. Password/account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account and any activities that occur under your account. Business cartoons shall not be liable to any person for any loss or damage which may arise as a result of any failure by you to protect your password or account.
10. Complaints
Any complaint we receive will be acknowledged and investigated as soon as possible. Any complaint will be taken seriously and dealt with using the information supplied by you to us. Please advise us of the nature of your complaint, dates and times if appropriate, a contact name and a telephone number so we can contact you and keep you updated with the progress of your complaint. All complaints should be notified to us as soon as practical after the problem arose.
11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Under no circumstances will ‘Business cartoons’ be liable for any of the following losses or damage (whether such losses where foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise): loss of data, loss of revenue or anticipated profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill or injury to reputation, losses suffered by third parties, any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from the use of ‘Business cartoons’ website regardless of the form of action.
