About Us

Business Cartoons is part of the Visual Humour cartoon agency which was established by John Morris and Peter Dodsworth in 1983. Since then the agency has been supplying single panel cartoons and cartoon strips directly to newspapers, magazines, book publishers and company newsletters worldwide. Visual Humour cartoon features have covered many subjects including television, family life, sport and children’s picture puzzles, drawn and devised by various cartoonists contributing their efforts to the company. One of the most popular features is a business cartoon titled ‘funny Business’ devised by MORRIS. This cartoon has enjoyed immeasurable success in many countries throughout the world.

This website has been created to offer the business cartoon to a wider audience to include companies/businesses, publishing houses and educational establishments.

The business cartoons have been drawn by cartoonist MORRIS.  His cartoons have been used for many purposes including; company web sites, newsletters, presentations, internal and external publications, books, magazines and blogs. John draws about 40 cartoons a week and he says his ideas come by ‘a sort of controlled daydreaming’.

John MORRIS was born in Rhos in Wales and spent the early part of his life working on the Birmingham factory floors of car plants or in their offices. He also spent time doing similar work at Ford’s in Cleveland and Detroit. John in his spare time was drawing cartoons and beginning to earn more than his full-time employment, so he took the plunge and became a full-time cartoonist. He eventually became the business cartoonist on a morning newspaper producing 12+ business cartoons a week. The editor making an observation that ‘John had a wry sense of humour and an acute sense of the absurd’.

John has never regretted making the move to becoming a professional cartoonist. He says: ‘thinking up ideas and illustrating them is a constant challenge, and bringing a smile to people gives me great pleasure. I consider that to be really worthwhile’.
